A rather simple lazy afternoon activity for toddlers. This one is so simple I could let the pictures tell you the story!
To do this activity you will need:
- Foam in various colors
- My printable shapes (download here)
- Dry earase marker
- Plastic container for wetting shapes
- a window and eager toddler
Print the shapes, cut out and trace on foam and cut foam shapes. Add the shapes to a container with a little bit of water to wet the shapes so that they stick on the window.
Head to a window with your toddler. Draw similar shapes on the window with a dry erase pen (these rub off easily!) Let your toddler now match up the shapes. Mine got it right after a few test runs!
I also added a small towel for under the bowl and touching the window to catch any water drips.
Here is a sample picture of what we are basically doing! It was rather difficult to catch the true picture on the window where my toddler was working so I recreated it on a window with a backing to show you.
Random sticking of these shapes was also a blast with my 2 year old! hehe
Using shapes like this is also great for fine motor skills as well as hand eye co-ordination.
Pin this activity to keep for later!

I agree with Emma, anything completed on a window is just more fun! I love that the activity is simple but has so much potential for creative expression.

Why is it that doing things on a window makes it more fun? Not sure, but whatever the reason this is a great idea!
